About Hearthline
Built Around the Belief That Families Deserve Better Conversations
Hearthline started as a small workshop series and has grown into a dedicated education space in Bangkok's Khlong Toei neighbourhood.

How Hearthline Came to Be
Hearthline grew from a series of informal gatherings held in a small apartment on Sukhumvit Road in 2019. The people who came were not in crisis — they were simply families who had run into the limits of their usual ways of talking. A divorce in progress, a parent struggling to reach a grown child, siblings who could not agree on the care of an elderly relative. Each situation was different, but the underlying need was the same: a quieter place to think, and some shared language for getting started.
The founders — a communication educator and a community organiser who had spent years working with neighbourhood groups across Bangkok — decided the most useful thing they could offer was not advice but structure. A format. A way of sitting together that made it easier to listen and harder to escalate.
In 2021, Hearthline moved to its current space at 128/4 Sukhumvit Road, Khlong Toei. The sessions became more formal, the materials more developed, and the approach clearer: everything here is educational. We are not counsellors, we are not lawyers, and we do not tell people what to do. We share tools, we create space, and we point toward reputable resources when people need more than a workshop can provide.
That is still the whole of it. No promises about outcomes, no claims about what our sessions will fix. Just a table, a few hours, and some genuinely useful things to take away.

What Guides Us
Mission and Working Values
Our Mission
To make practical communication education widely accessible to families in Thailand and the wider English-speaking community, through small-group sessions that respect people's time, intelligence and privacy.
Neutrality
We take no sides and make no judgements about anyone's situation. Sessions are structured so that all participants can contribute on equal footing, without any single voice dominating the room.
Warmth Without Overreach
We try to be genuinely welcoming without overstepping into territory that belongs to trained professionals. If something needs more than a workshop, we say so plainly and point in the right direction.
Discretion
What is said in a session stays there. We do not share details about attendees, their circumstances or their contributions. Privacy is not a feature — it is a baseline condition of how we work.

How We Work
Standards We Hold Ourselves To
Education-Only Scope
Every session is framed as learning and information-sharing. We do not deliver professional services in regulated fields.
Participant Privacy
Personal details and in-session contributions are never shared. We collect only what is needed to manage bookings.
Reviewed Materials
Session content is reviewed regularly against current communication research and updated when warranted.
Balanced Facilitation
Facilitators are trained to keep group dynamics equitable and to step in if sessions become unbalanced or uncomfortable.
Responsible Signposting
We maintain an up-to-date directory of reputable professional services to refer participants when sessions are not the right fit.
Small Group Sizes
We keep participant numbers low to preserve quality of conversation and ensure every person has sufficient space.
Family Communication Education in Bangkok
Bangkok is home to a large and varied community of families — Thai families, expat families, and many households that blend both. Finding a space where English-language communication education is available, practically oriented and free from professional overreach has not always been straightforward. Hearthline was shaped by that gap.
We work with adults who want clearer, quieter ways of navigating family discussions. The Khlong Toei location is accessible by BTS Asok and the Sukhumvit MRT station, and sessions run on weekday evenings and Saturday mornings to fit around working schedules.
Facilitation as a Skill, Not a Service
One of the things we hear most often is that participants wish they had come sooner — not because things had reached a difficult point, but because the skills they picked up changed the texture of ordinary conversations at home. That is exactly the kind of outcome we build toward.
The Facilitation Skills Training in particular draws people who want to apply these tools beyond their own family — community group organisers, teachers, HR professionals and others who spend time helping people talk through disagreements.
Come and See What We Mean
